Finishing my internship
May. 28th, 2019 09:20 amToday is my last day in this job and my plans right now are basically: "I want to read things". Like, yes, I'll get to the part of "finding a new job", but I need a time off after this last couple of months, because my brain is dead right now.
There are some fanfics I have to catch up with, and then there's that Subnautica AU I'm co-writing. I also want to read some books, because all I have read this year so far has been fanfic, and there are some series that I want to finish.
On the gaming front: someone is going to kill me, but I also promise myself to finish Syndicate. In my defense, my job involves staring at a computer a lot and the last months I haven't felt like getting in front of another computer for my free time. Most I have done is read some fics and watch series.
I kind of also want to read start to read some more non-fiction things. The problem: I'm half-tempted to let my inner child resurrect and start an Egyptian Phase Renaissance (but with law-related things this time, whcih I don't know where to find) or let my University Self take over and look for books about ius commune in Europe.
I really want to learn more about ius commune, but there's a problem: the only book I can find is The Common Legal Past of Europe, by Manlio Bellomo, which I have practically memorised because I used it for my master's thesis.
*Eyes the 18th century bibliography that is starting to look tempting*
Seriously, where are the ius commune books? Do you want to read abou England's Common Law? You have books. Do you want to read about continental Europe's medieval law system? You have nothing, ToT
I don't know, I might re-read Bellomo's book and then start to look up the bibliography in that book.
(But, seriously, good book. 10/10 would recommend. It even has a part about how universities in Europe started).
