The Waylanders
Aug. 7th, 2019 10:38 pm Have I mentioned The Waylanders in this blog before? Basically, it's a game that's being made in Galicia, the region of Spain I'm from. It comes out next summer and I'm fucking excited.
Gamescom is this month is this month, and I'm hoping for some more info.
It's set in our world, with time travel dynamics between the 8th and 12th centuries. The fantasy elements draw from Irish legends (Book of Invasions included) and Galician legends.
The devs have promised quiet a bit of diversity in the characters, including avatar personalization. They mentioned that the ey didn't want your gender choice to determine your character body, and it seems they're actually going to do that?
They have introduced a companion that uses "they", and while it doesn't show up in the English name for one of the races, the Mourians, the Spanish/Galician name is moures, instead of mouros.
What we know so far is that the protagonist has to protect Santiago's Way and that they can time travel. When in the 12th century, they have to find their reincarnated companions.
And if there's a fellow Galician reading this... Yes, I need to figure out how to make a video with this song:
