Can't remember if I mentioned it here or not, but Yen Press is re-editing the WITCH comics and I have started to read again the first arc (the last volume arrives tomorrow!) and I'm remembering how much I loved this comic series growing up.

However, re-reading also makes me remember the problems in how the canon evolved over time. There were changes between the first and second arc, for example, with Metamoor's nature changing. It was originally a world that got created to seal up all evil, but then became just another world among hundreds. Not a problem by itself, except Yan Lin is the one to tell the girls that story and then it turned out to be a very big lie.

I still have ways to go until I reach the New Power arc, but there was also another canon change in there, with Matt suddenly being part of Kandrakar? I can't really remember the comics mentioning if he became involved with Kandrakar during the comic events OR if it was implied that he was always part of the whole thing?

And the last arc/last two arcs were.... Meh. The comic was clearly dying, and by the last arc they were out of ideas and just wanted to end everything.

Interest in the comic dying makes sense, though. I started to read it when I was around ten, I think? And the comic finished in 2012, when I was 21. And it was published in a magazine that was aimed at pre-teens/young teens, so... yeah, the comic dying was bound to happen when your audience becomes older and the younger audience can't get hold of the older issues, because the comic wasn't only getting published as part of the magazine.

PS: I didn't remember the thing with Elyon and Cedric being this creepy. Elyon, you're 14, stop having dates with the clearly adult man that owns a bookshop.

PSS: I remember a conversation in a forum were we tried to make sense of the school system. There are at least 5 grades in that high school. Irma and Taranee are 13 and on the second grade.

I have minimal understanding of the following education system, BUT

They comics are originally from Italy, but this doesn't seem to be the Italian system. I have always assumed the girls to be American, but this isn't the American system.

This system, so far, seems to be the Irish system.
