A/N: It's past twelve here and officially December 26th. I'm posting, XD

Her eyes widen when she sees the assassin appear in front of her in a blink. She doesn't fully understand what's happening even as his blade pierces her stomach and takes her breath away.

And then she hears them.

“She's still alive, my lord.”

“Not for long. Take the body away,” her Spymaster says.

Traitor.

She can still hear Emily's screams when those men took her away. She closes her eyes for a moment and when she opens them again, she's looking upon a starless sky.

“So close to dead, your Imperial Majesty,” says a voice to her right. There's a young man there, pale, with black eyes and dark smoke floating around him as if he was made from it. “Your spymaster is waiting for you to play your part.”

The back of her hands burns as he speaks, and the symbol that appears on it it's an irrefutable proof of who he is.

“A gift,” he tells her. “Now, you should run.”

She wakes up in her room, to the screams of one her servants demanding to be let in to attend to her wound. She feels stronger, and the window is close enough.

Still haven't decided. Maybe Corvo first? She isn't trained in combat, so she would look for someone she trusts to help her with her new powers AND train her.
