Finally replaying FF7
Feb. 8th, 2020 10:39 amPlaying FF7 in Spanish is an experience. Some months ago I told myself that I was going to re-play the game, and while I started to play it... I didn't finish that playthrough. I have started a new one.
FF7 Remake is coming out in April and I have promised myself that I'm going to finish this playthrough, so I have the original game fresh in my mind.
Here's the "fun" thing about the Spanish translation of this game: It's baaaad. Personally, I think the translators were given random phrases to translate without any context and we got this amazing Google Translate version of FF7, where sometimes the translation is so literal that it doesn't make any sense.
... Then again, sometimes they decided to just ignore punctuation rules.
If the Remake is ever ported to PC, I'm pretty sure that the Spanish side of the fandom is going to create a mod that switches the original text for an English-Spanish translation using Google.
Now, off to rescue Aerith! (And, I'll admit, I'm happy that I already got her the Striking Staff, I love the Steal materia, XD)
