Thinking about joining a fic exchange

I just saw the post for rarepairsexchange and I think I may participate? It runs during the summer, with about two months to write 1000 words for a rarepair. It's multi-fandom, so I don't know if there will be any fandom/ship I feel confident enough to write for it, but it sounds fun.


For now, I'm getting my ships ready. Nominations end on June 7th, so I still have over a week left to see if I'll participate.

Max is five fandoms (and 20 ships per fandom) and picking the fandom is being hard. I have like 12 fandoms listed already! I have a narrowed it down to four fandoms (Lightning has a lot of ships, XD), but fandom #5 is still undecided. All I know about Fandom #5 is that it falls under the category "shit I started to ship as a teen".

EDIT: A post for hetswap just popped up in the fandom calendar. None of my children will be abandoned now. Now, the question is, do I have to put F!Corrin/Berkut in the Crososver Fandom or in the Fire Emblem one? Because I have been shipping these two since the last bonding event in Heroes.

You'd just put that under Fire Emblem Heroes, unless hetswap is one of those frustrating exchanges that insists on lumping franchises together.

I asked. All Fire Emblem games fall under the Fire Emblem category.

Aw, that's disappointing. It looks like the mod has been really reasonable about other fandoms, too. I wonder if asking again and explaining that that at least one of the nominated pairings could be from any of three different games with different plots would make a difference.

Why aren't you just nominating Berkut and Corrin under FEH? They're both in one game, that one.

I asked. All Fire Emblem ships are getting classified as Fire Emblem, no matter the game.

I suppose that's one way to do it, although I don't think much of a mod that lumps all FE games like that ;p (I can just imagine doing the same with FF and ahahahahahaha no)
