Three houses, first impressions

Game still came out yesterday, so of course I still don't have that many hours into the game and I'm still at the school arc, but... I'm having fun? The story looks promising (both the political background and what's up with Byleth and Sothis) and I don't have to manage a ridiculous amount of units.

I mean, you can recruit students from the other two houses, but I'm the kind of person that uses the same units all the time, so right now is my MC, her 8 studentes and sometimes one student from another house that I kidnap into helping me.

Also: No child units. Thank you! Once was fine, but in Birthright I felt very lazy getting them. Oh, right! I think only the MC has S-support here? At least, that's what my support list is saying.

I'm also having a lot of fun with the classes and training the students.

I thought I wasn't going to like the school part, but choosing how to train the students is actually fun. I like that they can learn other skills outside of battle.

I'm also glad they didn't bring back the "marry everyone together then go get their kids" thing. It made some sense in Awakening, but in Fates it was such a chore.

So far I think the characters are the best part of the game, I really like them. I also like that there's not so many units. It could use better maps, but I'm having fun too.

I love the training part and being able to construcy each character however we want. I'm starting to suspect that I put Sylvain on the wrong path, but, hey, first time playing this game.

The kids in Fates don't make sense. I think the events of the game last barely a year, but half of the army gets pregnant. I guess they wait out the pregnancies in the Deeprealms or something? XD

I don't know what I'm doing with anybody's classes either lol. I'm mostly just picking whatever's convenient or what outfit looks good on them since they can wield any weapon anyway.

The Deeprealms was the most ridiculous thing ever! I wonder why they didn't give Fates a timeskip 🤔 even just a small one so the ladies actually had time to be pregnant lol.
