I hate this country
Nov. 11th, 2019 02:11 pm Last April, Spain had elections. The problem came when the Congress that came out of them didn't manage to name a new president, which means that last week we had another Election Week TM and that yesterday we voted again to form a new Congress and Senate. The results? I hate this country.
The far right rose again. There are three main right wing parties in Spain: PP, Ciudadanos and Vox. That last one, is the far right party and it's voters come from the other two parties. Last night some people over Twitter commented that the results show that there's not more right wing voters, that they simply changed which right party they voted.
But.
We now have 52 Congresmen from a party that proudly shows the flag from Franco's dictatorship, that believes that any law protecting women and LGBT people must be taken down, that wants to take down our public health system, our privatize our education system, that think that women that get raped while drunk deserve it but think men that attack women while drunk shouldn't be persecuted, that want to build walls down at Ceuta and Melilla to keep "the evil immigrants that rape our women out"...
Oh, right, the wall thing. Did I mention that apparently one of Trump's campaign advisors is working with this party? They even proposed to allow people to have guns at home.
The only good thing I can take from last night is that in Galicia, the region I'm from, they got exactly ZERO Congressmen.
Of course, they only got 0 congressmen in Galicia and Euskadi and in Murcia all the congressmen were from their party, but I have to be positive over something.
