Bookbinding?

 The lockdown is clearly starting to affect me. I have, somehow, ended up in the bookbinding section of Youtube and, look obtaining the ability of binding my favourite fanfics/adding to my ever growing stack of notebooks is very, very tempting.

Plus, it looks relaxing. And I have some cradboard around that was too thick to use for bobbin lacing.

OMG I've been watching those kinds of vids too. I'd love to make my own journals, but then I see all the tools these people are using and I'm like I'd probably do it once then quit and be stuck with a book press in my closet for 20 years 😂

I'd love to see if you try it out.

I'm looking at some basic tutorials by Sea Lemon for beginners, and the materials seem pretty easy to get.

The most difficult thing would be the presser, but she says that you can use things like heavy books as weights, but I think you can also use a pair of wood pieces and... clamp screws? I'm not sure of the proper name in English, but it would take less space than one of those big pressers.

And I just asked my father, and he thinks there's still a presser somewhere in the garage. It has never used for book binding (and until I find it, I don't know if I can use it for this), just to glue things together, but it's there somewhere, xD

Definitely check Sea Lemon's tutorials. I have been looking at them, and so far they seem very beginner-friendly!
