Me, writing a small biography for the contest: Hi, I write fanfic and this is my story called "The Galician language is dying and the book section is full of historical novels set during the first half of the 20th Century and a bunch of thriller novels and you need to stop".
I want to read in Galician, but I don't like the two (2) genres that are available for anyone older than twelve. Seriously, no fantasy or scifi, or romance or historical set in other centuries. Translations are unheard of because, hey, they already exist in Spanish! What do you mean you want them in Galician?
YA section? It "exists". And by that I mean that the books are the perfect lenght to read in class and write some homework about it. The summary of the last YA book I checked explained that it was a story about a girl that time travels to another century... and that it was perfect to teach about sexism, because the people they're actually trying to sell these books to are the parents/teachers.
