On my life, last week
Jan. 16th, 2023 11:27 amBlackwork/Stitching
I loved working on Peppermint's SAL last year, so I signed up for this year's SAL. I finished the last rectangle this weekend, and the plan was to start working on the layout for the 2023 piece... but, you know, plans.
i have decided to keep working on the 2022 SAL and stitch one of the borders. Hopefully, by the time I'm done with that I'll finally know if I want to work with black fabric and white thread or the other way around. White on black looks great, but it has some problems:
1) None of the local stores sell black aida, which means I'll have to order it online, and I like being able to see the fabric before I buy it.
2) I can only work on it during the weekends, because it's when I have my mornings free. Black fabric requires good light!
3) Some of the fills in th 2022 used a dark blue, and it doesn't look that good, I think. Not a big problem, though, because I can just pick a brighter shade of blue.
Harvestella
Currently speedrunning Chapter 3, because I need to recruit the Earth fairy. My farm depends on it!
Well, I lie. I'm not speedrunning Chapter 3. Blame the side quests and the fact that they pay well. Also, the ones provided by team mates raise stats.
I swear I'll recruit that fairy this week.
Age of Empires 2
20+ years later, this game still has a lot of people playing it. I actually think it has more players than any of the other titles? Anyway, I'm back at playing it.
I'm still not ready to go back online (I haven't played online since MSZone was a thing), but I may try to beat the AI on Hard soon. I'm also doing Jeanne D'Arc's campaign, and I got her and her troops massacred because I didn't remember that there are some rivers that you can cross, so I continued to the enemy's main base. Oops.
Gaming things I have to do this week:
1) Uptdate Stardew Valley's mods.
2) Finish all the Chapter 2 of Octopath. Which probably will mean some XP/gold farming while I watch something.
3) Recruit that Earth fairy. (And not get distracted by the side quests)
Reading things:
1) Finish Gone Girl. It's not a bad book, but it's old enough that Internet has spoiled everything to me, so I know the answer to the mystery.
2) Do I want to talk about books here? Like, a quick summary at the end of the month.
PS: Fire Emblem Engage is coming out this week!
