Cross stitch things

artabriaI have been working on the background of my Octopus Crocheting, by Stitch It Picasso, and thank all for Youtube, because doing a background that's 90% the same colour can get boring. But I'm mostly done now!
I have also been checking some designers in Etsy (Stitch It Picasso, MIYAStitch and Soda) to see if something catches my attention and I have come to two conclusions:
1) I'm probably going to stitch one of MIYA's designs based on Lord of The Rings.
2) What's going on with all the gnomes?
They're not exactly a new thing, I know, but when did stitching gnomes become a thing? Even the magazine I buy here in Spain have patterns for Christmas themed gnomes last November!
