Subnautica: Nope, nope, nope, nope

artabriaI have managed to take two weeks off work and I'm so going to need them. This month has been crazy, and this week somehow has been crazier, to the point that I had an anxiety attack today (end of the year is fun, kids!). Back at home, I was mostly watching Criminal Minds and playing a game that I hadn't played in a while, not because I don't like it, but because progressing in the story is scary and this isn't even a horror game.
So... Basically, I have been playing Subnautica. I had sworn to myself to finish Assassin's Creed: Syndicate and Pillars of Eternity, but this game has sucked me right back into its beautiful world... which is also a terrifying world.
Like, you're in your spaceship and something happens, it has been shot down and you are now a crash survivor in a water planet. With pretty fishes and scary monsters that make you nope very hard. The scary part is seeing the dark under you and knowing that, yes, you need to go down further. Oh, 100 metres under water is scary? Now you have to go past the 200 metres mark to find that destroyed pod and maybe find that blueprint/material you need to survive.
Me, noping hard at the idea of going down that sinkhole and no longer caring about the sweet, sweet gold down there.
Oh, yes, and figure what the hell is going on in that planet.
Also, I may or may not be planning a crossover/fusion AU of Subnautica and Dishonored. It's alliron_moon fault, she's indulging me and I'm so excited about the AU we're creating. But, seriously, how else was I going to react when some of the creatures are called Leviathans?
